History |

 In 1945, George Ketzenberg ended his war time job and was looking to start his own business. It took him several years of working three jobs and his wife working as a waitress to save up $5,000. With that $5,000, George bought a sheet metal brake and moved it into his chicken coup. The rest, as they say, is history.
The returning war veterans needed new housing for their brides and growing families; the post war boom was exploding! George was one of the few heating contractors in central Jersey to do the work of installing thousands of furnaces in the new style of "cookie cutter" homes; homes that were mass produced from one simple floor plan. Air conditioning followed in the early 1950's, and those same customers called George to keep them cool. Times were good and the company moved from the chicken coup to the first-class, super highway location with the large shop and warehouse where it still remains today. Throughout the years, George's company has proved itself worthy of its stellar reputation thousands of times. By 1980, Ketzenberg's could boast of more than 100,000 installations. Far exceeding that number now, K&O maintains the long standing tradition of workmanship and dedication to the customers it serves. |
